Why Visa Vida exists.
I'm Ryan Jones, a former USCIS adjudicator. I've seen the U.S. immigration process from both sides: inside the government, where I adjudicated applications, and outside it, as a petitioner filing for my own wife.
Inside USCIS
At USCIS I served as an Immigration Services Officer and as a Refugee Officer, adjudicating a wide range of form types with a focus on family-based and employment-based applications.
Reviewing that many filings teaches you what a complete, consistent, well-organized application looks like, and how much easier the process is for the applicant when the paperwork is done right.
Then I became the petitioner
In 2024, after leaving USCIS, I married abroad and prepared and filed my wife's spousal visa application myself. Even knowing the forms, I felt the weight of it, gathering documents across two countries, organizing evidence, second-guessing every detail, all on top of full lives. Going through it from the outside taught me things the inside never could.
